Will it measure up to the hype? Let's take a look. But if you buy one now, you'll be getting a completely unique product and what is likely to be the ultimate gaming display for at least the near-future. The price is high-end as well-over $700 at this writing. There is no doubt that you'll call attention to yourself when you show up at a LAN party with one of these.

It's an impressive package wrapped in a nicely-styled chassis with a solid stand. In addition to a 165Hz panel you get Nvidia's G-Sync adaptive-refresh technology, ULMB motion-blur reduction, GamePlus, a hot-key to switch framerates on the fly and the usual lineup of gaming-specific image modes. The PG279Q is a premium product and no gaming features have been left out. So what you have here is essentially an IPS screen with better viewing angles and all the other benefits associated with the tech. The PG279Q does not have this issue and has slightly richer, more expressive color representation. It's not the super-high contrast A MVA technology seen in screens like the Philips BDM4065UC and BenQ XR3501. The PG278QR has amazing color but bad contrast gradient control that produces gradient banding from light to dark. A HVA is a variation of IPS that offers superior off-axis performance. I paid $599.99 for the monitor. We've looked at other AHVA monitors before and we want to make sure there's no confusion. I am trying to decide what to do, the pixel is pretty noticeable on only black screens. From what I am reading is this a "hot" pixel that is basically dead? I brought it back to Microcenter they gave me the world's hardest time telling me that there is No panel with 100 percent working pixels, the manager went on to tell me I was being picky and impossible and wouldn't exchange it again. I ran a few of the pixel fix videos over night didn't help, tried the pressure trick didn't help, brought it in for exchange now the third one has a white pixel stuck or dead not sure, it is also near the upper middle, it looksike its white maybe flickering a rainbow of you look close. So I purchased a Asus PG279Q a week ago from Microcenter, opened the box and the screen had like a thumbnail size crack/scratch on the near middle of the screen, bring it in for exchange get the new one home and it has 4 red stuck pixels in the center of the screen and a crayon yellow tint to most colors that looks gross.
